KARACHI (Web Desk): An NCCIA raid in Defence exposed a scam call center, with four suspects arrested and digital devices seized during the operation.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency carried out a raid on a call center in the Defence area of Karachi and arrested four suspects during the operation. Officials said the center was allegedly involved in online fraud targeting foreign citizens.

During the raid, investigators recovered a large amount of digital equipment. Authorities seized 14 laptops, 10 mobile phones, and sensitive bank data belonging to thousands of foreign nationals.

Officials said the suspects were using digital tools and special software to carry out forgery and fraud. All the equipment used in the suspected operation was taken into custody as evidence.

According to NCCIA officials, an inspection of the building revealed that an organized scam call center was operating from the premises. Several people were reportedly working there as fake calling agents pretending to represent foreign banks. Investigators said the fake agents contacted foreign citizens by phone and tried to obtain sensitive banking information from them.

“The agents were collecting secret banking details by calling from fake numbers,” officials said. Authorities explained that the suspects were gathering personal information such as social security numbers, phone numbers, dates of birth, and security codes.

Officials believe the collected data was allegedly used to gain unauthorized financial benefits from merchants’ accounts.

The agency has registered a case against five suspects involved in the scam. So far, four accused have been arrested, while efforts are underway to locate and arrest the remaining suspect.

Investigators also confirmed that all seized digital devices have been sent for technical analysis to gather more evidence. Further investigation into the case is currently underway, and officials say more details could emerge as the inquiry continues.
