A shocking fraud case has surfaced in Lahore, where a fake spiritual healer allegedly hypnotised a citizen and escaped with gold jewellery worth Rs6,000,000. The incident has raised serious concerns about fraudulent ‘healers’ operating in the city.
According to police, the crime took place in the Shad Bagh area. The accused visited the victim’s home, hypnotised him and then fled with the valuables. The victim, Abdullah, reportedly handed over the jewellery himself while under the healer’s influence.
A case has been registered against the unidentified suspect on Abdullah’s complaint. In the FIR, the complainant stated that the fake healer gave him something to eat, described as ‘sugar’, and made him repeat certain words. After that, Abdullah said he lost control over his senses and could not understand what was happening.

The initial police report noted that Abdullah even walked the fake healer to his motorcycle after giving him all the gold items, not realising what he had done. Only later did he discover that the suspect had taken the jewellery from the house and vanished.
Police officials say an FIR has been lodged and further investigation is under way. They expressed confidence that the suspect will be arrested soon.
This case shows how easily people can fall for tricks when they trust the wrong person. The use of hypnosis or fake rituals makes the crime even more alarming. Police have begun the search, and the suspect is expected to be traced. The story is a reminder to stay alert and avoid unknown ‘healers’.
