
Ameer Balaj Tipu, a prominent figure in Lahore's underworld and owner of a goods transport network, was shot dead by an unidentified assailant during a wedding ceremony in the Chung area on February 18.
Ameer Balaj Tipu was the son of Arif Amir, alias Tipu Truckanwala, who himself fell victim to a fatal attack in 2010 at the Allama Iqbal airport, succumbed to injuries sustained during the gunfire.
The police conducted the raid on the directives from the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
On the information provided by the accused, police have also taken another suspect into custody from Ravi Road.
During the investigation, accused Ahsan Shah revealed that he had provided information about Bajaj to Taefi Butt after taking an amount of Rs5,000,000.
A team former by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA)’s Lahore chapter arrested other accused namely Ali Asghar Pathan, Malik Sohail, Ahsan Shah, shooter Ayaz, Bilal and their driver Husnain. The team also seized the car found on the crime scene.
