The primary suspect is said to be an employee of NMU, and the second suspect is his accomplice. The initial police investigation reveals that the suspects took the victim to an undisclosed location away from the university and raped her.

Multan Regional Police Officer (RPO) told the press that the police responded swiftly upon receiving the report and arrested the suspects.

A senior NMU doctor stated that the victim was in a state of trauma. The doctor also claimed that senior members of the medical community urged the university management to involve the police in the case.

Multan Cantonment Police said that the arrangements for a medical examination and DNA test for the victim are underway.
