Pakistan begins Netflix discussions to expand reach of Pakistani dramas
Officials say discussions are underway with Netflix Pakistan and other international streaming services to expand the global reach of Pakistani dramas, films and digital productions. The initiative is aimed at giving local content greater international exposure.
Alongside these discussions, the government is also working on launching a Pakistan OTT platform that will exclusively showcase local entertainment.
The proposed Pakistan OTT platform is expected to provide a dedicated digital space for Pakistani dramas, movies and original content created by local filmmakers.
According to officials, partnering with Netflix Pakistan and other global OTT platforms could help Pakistani productions reach millions of viewers worldwide.
At the same time, a locally developed streaming service would strengthen Pakistan’s digital entertainment industry and support content creators.
The government believes the new strategy will encourage investment in the creative sector while helping producers and artists earn greater international recognition.

Authorities have not yet announced a launch date for the local platform or shared further details about agreements with international streaming companies. More information is expected once discussions are completed.
