According to Indian media, a woman constable of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) slapped Kangana Ranaut for ‘insulting’ farmers. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The woman constable has been identified as Kulwinder Kaur, and she belongs to Sultanpur Lodhi in the Kapurthala district of Indian Punjab. Kulwinder Kaur is the sister of Sher Singh Malhiwal, a well-known peasant leader. The incident highlights the sensitivity of the issue of farmers in India.

As the video of the incident went viral on social media, some people supported Kulwinder Kaur, saying disrespect to farmers is unacceptable. However, some people also condemned the act, saying violence does not solve any problem.
Speaking to the media after the incident, Kangana Ranaut said she was shocked and saddened that a government official took such a step.
She said she has always supported the farmers and raised her voice for their rights. Narrating the details of the incident, she said she was about to board a flight to New Delhi when the incident took place.
Kulwinder Kaur said in her statement that he slapped Kangana Ranaut because she could not bear the insult of farmers. She said her mother was at the farmers' protest when the actress made a statement against them.
She said farmers are the backbone of the country and everyone should respect them. She added her brother is a well-known farmer leader, and he has always stood for the rights of farmers.
