Petrol and diesel prices surge in Pakistan, what will you pay now?
The federal government has raised the prices of petroleum products following an increase in global oil prices. The latest revision is expected to affect transport costs and household budgets across the country.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs13.18 per litre. High-speed diesel has also become costlier by Rs13.80 per litre.
After the increase, the new petrol price has been fixed at Rs310.71 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has reached Rs323.30 per litre.
The Ministry of Petroleum said the revised prices will come into effect from midnight. The new rates will remain applicable for the next seven days.
Officials said the increase was linked to rising crude oil prices in international markets. Recent tensions between Iran and the United States have added uncertainty to the global energy market.

The latest hike comes only a week after fuel prices were reduced. At that time, the government had lowered both petrol and diesel prices by Rs1.97 per litre.
On July 4, the petrol price was cut to Rs297.53 per litre from Rs299.50. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel was reduced to Rs309.50 per litre from Rs311.47.
The sharp shift from a price reduction to a significant increase has surprised many consumers. People are now closely watching international developments that could influence future fuel prices.
Higher fuel prices often affect transportation, goods delivery and daily living costs. Any further rise in global crude oil prices could place additional pressure on local markets.
The latest increase shows how strongly Pakistan’s fuel prices depend on global oil trends. If international tensions continue, more changes in petroleum prices may follow in the coming weeks.
