The well-known businessman, Aamir Safdar Awan, was killed after armed men stormed his farmhouse in an upscale area of Islamabad.
According to initial reports, at least five attackers forcefully entered the farmhouse and reached his bedroom. He was reportedly asleep when the attackers opened fire on him.

He was later shifted to Shifa International Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday evening.
The attackers were said to be armed with Kalashnikov rifles. They managed to break through security and carried out what officials believe was a targeted and well-planned attack.
