Passenger relief as Lahore Airport expands immigration facilities

The work was completed in just 15 days to provide faster processing during the busy travel period.

Immigration lines increased

The expansion has increased immigration lines from seven to 20, giving passengers more counters and greater processing capacity. The move is expected to reduce congestion and long queues during peak hours.

Naqvi reviews arrangements

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Allama Iqbal International Airport and inspected the newly opened area. He reviewed passenger arrangements, watched the immigration process and spoke to travelers about their experience.

Naqvi said authorities focused on giving passengers immediate relief instead of waiting for permanent construction to be completed. He appreciated the efforts of the Defence Ministry, Civil Aviation authorities, FIA and other institutions.

Permanent counters to follow

The Federal Investigation Agency has installed additional immigration counters to make the expanded area operational. Permanent counters will be installed soon, while the remaining construction work will also be completed at the earliest.

The expansion comes as passenger traffic increases at Lahore Airport. Raising the number of immigration lines from seven to 20 could make the process faster and help control crowds.
