(Web Desk): Hajj 2027 registration has opened for applicants born on January 1, 1959, or later, with 35% selection of Hajj quota through a lottery.

The Hajj and Umrah Administration under Syria’s Ministry of Awqaf has started accepting initial applications. Registration is for applicants whose final selection will be decided through the lottery system.

Registration deadline announced

Eligible applicants can submit their applications until September 10, 2026. They will then enter the lottery pool, and the required number of pilgrims will be selected under the approved process.

Initial registration does not mean an applicant has been accepted for Hajj. Final acceptance will depend on the lottery results and completion of the required procedures.

Older applicants selected first

The latest phase follows an earlier registration period for older applicants born in 1958 or earlier, along with their companions. That phase ran from August 12 to August 25, or until the allocated number of places was filled.

Applicants selected in the older-age phase are required to pay a first installment of $3,500. The second payment will be decided later after contracts for accommodation, transport, food and other services are completed.

Quota and key requirements

Under the previous system, 65% of Syria’s Hajj quota was allocated to older applicants, while 35% was reserved for lottery selection. The final Hajj quota for Syria for the 1448 AH/2027 season has not yet been announced.

Syria’s quota in the previous Hajj season was 24,500 pilgrims after an increase of 2,000 visas. Applicants are also required to meet conditions including holding a Syrian passport and not having performed Hajj previously, along with health and mahram requirements where applicable.

The new registration gives younger eligible applicants a chance to perform Hajj through the lottery system. However, submitting an application does not guarantee a place.

Applicants should carefully check the official requirements before applying. They should also avoid agents or intermediaries who claim they can guarantee Hajj acceptance outside the official process.
