Private Hajj bookings begin
Booking for the Private Hajj Scheme 2027 has officially begun, according to media reports. For the first time, pilgrims will be required to use the government’s digital platforms for the major stages of the private Hajj booking process.
Applicants can select their preferred package and private Hajj company through the Pak Hajj App or the official Hajj portal. The new arrangement is intended to make the process more transparent and reduce the risk of pilgrims dealing with unauthorised individuals.
Direct payments to operators banned
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has warned pilgrims against making direct payments to private Hajj operators. Payments made outside the official system will not be accepted under the new arrangements.
Pilgrims have also been advised not to hand over money to unauthorised agents or individuals claiming to represent private Hajj companies. The government says applicants will be responsible for any loss resulting from payments made through unauthorised channels.
Pilgrims warned about unauthorised agents
The warning is particularly important because pilgrims may approach agents for help with Hajj bookings and package selection. Under the new rules, however, only companies approved by the Ministry of Religious Affairs will be available through the official digital system.
Applicants should therefore verify the company and package through the Pak Hajj App or Hajj portal before making any payment. The ministry’s instructions are aimed at protecting pilgrims from possible fraud and ensuring that payments reach authorised service providers.
71,696 pilgrims to perform Hajj under private scheme
A total of 71,696 pilgrims will perform Hajj under the Private Hajj Scheme 2027.
Meanwhile, more than 105,000 people have already registered through the Pak Hajj App, according to the available information.
The registration figure indicates strong interest among Pakistani citizens planning to perform Hajj under the private arrangement.
Only 25 private Hajj companies are authorised
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has clarified that 25 private Hajj companies are currently registered with the ministry. Only packages offered by these authorised companies will be available through the official Hajj portal and Pak Hajj App.

This means pilgrims will not be able to select an unregistered company through the government’s digital system. The restriction is intended to ensure that private Hajj services are provided through companies recognised by the relevant authorities.
