Mamdani names all-woman transition team to lead city’s new administration
(Web Desk): Newly elected New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced a five-member all-woman transition team to establish a transparent, trustworthy, and accessible government.

NYC mayor-elect vowed at a news conference that his administration would be both compassionate and capable. Mayor Zohran Mamdani said, "I and my team will build a City Hall capable of delivering on the promises of this campaign,"

Mamdani, who made history as the first Muslim and South Asian Mayor of New York City, said the transition team will focus on setting up a government that “works for everyone, not just the privileged few.”

According to the announcement, Mamdani named political strategist Elana Leopold, from the de Blasio administration, as executive director of the transition team. She will oversee the coordination between city departments and help lay the groundwork for Mamdani’s incoming administration.
