Trump Calls attack on Saudi Arabia ‘Unacceptable’, considers action against Houthis
Trump condemns deadly Riyadh attack
Speaking to reporters after the reported attacks on the Saudi capital, Trump described the strike on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport as a horrifying incident.
He said the attack on Saudi Arabia was unacceptable and added that he planned to discuss the matter with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Responding to a journalist’s question, Trump said the Saudis were good fighters but described the incident as frightening.
The US president also said his administration was considering whether to take part in attacks against the Houthis. However, he did not announce a final decision.
Rubio demands an immediate end to attacks
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also strongly condemned the reported Houthi attack on Riyadh airport.
In a message on X, Rubio said Houthi attacks put the lives of innocent civilians at risk. He called on the group to stop its attacks immediately.
Rubio also expressed condolences to the families of those affected and reaffirmed Washington’s support for Saudi Arabia.
His statement came as the reported attack raised concerns about civilian safety and security at a major aviation facility in the Saudi capital.

At least 12 killed and 309 injured
According to the Saudi-led military coalition, the Houthis carried out the attack on Saturday.
The coalition said the strike on a civil aviation facility left at least 12 people dead and 309 injured.
The reported casualties have added to concerns about the security of Saudi Arabia and the possible wider consequences of the incident.
The attack has also put the spotlight on Washington’s response and whether the United States will take a more direct role against the Houthis.
What happens next?
Trump’s remarks suggest that the US administration is reviewing its possible response. His planned conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman could provide further details about Washington’s position.
However, the administration has not confirmed whether US forces will join any military action against the Houthis.
