Pakistan passport service suspended in Abu Dhabi
The Pakistani Embassy in Abu Dhabi has temporarily suspended its passport services due to a technical malfunction, causing disruption for Pakistani citizens applying for travel documents in the United Arab Emirates.
According to the embassy, the issue is technical in nature, which has led to a temporary halt in passport processing and related services. Officials said efforts are underway to resolve the problem as soon as possible so that normal operations can resume.
In an official advisory, the embassy urged Pakistani nationals residing in Abu Dhabi and nearby areas to submit their passport applications through the online system until further notice. Applicants have also been advised to avoid visiting the embassy for passport-related services during the suspension period.
The disruption has affected routine processing, creating inconvenience for many overseas Pakistanis who rely on timely passport renewal and issuance for travel, employment, and residency purposes.
Authorities have not provided a specific timeline for restoration but assured that updates will be shared once the technical issue is fully resolved.
The embassy emphasized that the temporary suspension is necessary to ensure system stability and prevent further complications in processing applications.
Pakistanis living in the UAE have expressed concern over delays, especially those with urgent travel needs. However, officials have reassured that alternative digital channels remain available to minimize disruption during the service outage.
