(Web Desk): Rising prices of essential goods continue to hit consumers across Pakistan, making basic household items increasingly unaffordable for many families.

Inflation continues to dominate open markets across Pakistan, with rising prices of essential goods making it increasingly difficult for low and middle-income families to manage household expenses.

Market sources report that prices of ghee, cooking oil, tea, detergent, pulses and sugar have been steadily increasing, adding to public frustration and financial pressure on consumers.

According to market rates, first-grade ghee and cooking oil are now being sold between Rs 590 and Rs 595 per kilogram. Second-grade ghee and oil have reached around Rs 540 per kilogram, while third-grade varieties have climbed to nearly Rs 470 per kilogram.

Similarly, the price of different varieties of rice has also increased significantly, now ranging between Rs 320 and Rs 640 per kilogram depending on quality and type. Traders say that continuous price hikes are linked to supply chain costs, currency pressures and overall inflationary trends in the economy.

Citizens say that the persistent rise in essential food items is severely affecting monthly household budgets. Many families, especially the salaried and lower-income groups, report that managing basic needs has become increasingly difficult.

Public concerns are growing as inflation continues to rise without visible relief in everyday commodity prices. Consumers are urging authorities to take immediate and effective steps to control market rates and ensure stability in the prices of essential goods.

They also demand stronger monitoring of open markets to prevent further artificial price hikes and to provide relief to ordinary citizens struggling under economic pressure.
