A post circulating online recently claimed that Israeli Police had arrested Indian journalist Aditya Raj Kaul. The allegation said he was detained after he revealed the location of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu while reporting from a place that had been targeted in an Iranian missile strike.
The viral video showed Aditya Raj Kaul reporting from a damaged location. In the same clip, Benjamin Netanyahu was also seen visiting the site to review the destruction caused by the attack.
Because of the sensitive situation, many social media users quickly believed the claim and shared it widely. However, a closer investigation found that the story was not true.
To verify the claim, a keyword search was conducted which led to Aditya Raj Kaul’s official account on the social media platform X. His activity there clearly showed that he had not been arrested and was continuing to post normally.

While sharing a screenshot of a report about the rumor, he posted a message on March 16, 2026. In the post, he wrote: “If you too have read some Fake Stories on the Internet about me, don’t believe them blindly. It’s Pakistani ISI affiliated Social Media accounts as well as Iranian Media supported by IT cell of a frustrated political party in India indulging in a massive disinformation campaign. Spread this message!”
In another post shared earlier, he also addressed the viral video directly. He explained that the footage was simply part of his reporting work in Israel.
He wrote: “Reportage from Bet Shemesh, Israel for @NDTV on March 2 4:30pm where Israeli PM @netanyahu was visiting to review damage a day after Iranian Missile attack. 9 people including children were killed, 40 injured in the attack. Some baseless disinformation being spread on this video.”

Further checks also showed that the video was recorded on March 2, 2026, when Benjamin Netanyahu visited the area after the Iranian missile attack. The footage was part of a news report and had nothing to do with revealing the prime minister’s secret location.
This confirms that the viral claim about Aditya Raj Kaul being arrested by Israeli Police is completely false. No official report or credible source supports the allegation.
False news spreads very fast on social media. Many people share posts without checking facts. In this case, the rumor about Aditya Raj Kaul created confusion online. But a simple verification showed that the journalist was never arrested and the viral claim was misleading.
