(Web Desk): A drone and rocket attack near Baghdad International Airport reportedly killed 10 US soldiers as Gulf tensions rise, with flights disrupted in Dubai and Kuwait.

A drone and rocket attack near Baghdad International Airport targeted the Victoria military base, reportedly killing 10 US soldiers, according to early media reports. Independent confirmation is still pending.

Local Arab news agencies reported that fires broke out at the base following the attack, and at least five individuals were injured in the initial assault.

Previous Attacks and Security Measures

According to reports, the attack followed a drone strike on the same military base a day earlier, for which the Iraqi resistance group released video evidence. Following the previous incident, security around the area was reportedly heightened.

Authorities are investigating whether the latest attack is linked to escalating tensions across the Gulf region, where drone and missile incidents have increased in recent days.

Drone Attacks in Kuwait and Dubai

Kuwait also reported drone attacks at international airports, damaging radar systems but causing no casualties. Five drones were reportedly shot down during the incident. An Italian military base in Kuwait was also targeted with drones, though no damage or injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, Dubai International Airport faced disruption after a drone attack caused a fire on an oil tanker, temporarily halting flight operations. Emirati authorities reported that four ballistic missiles and six drones were destroyed on Sunday, while hundreds of previous drone and missile attacks in the region have been successfully intercepted in recent days.

Regional Implications

The attacks highlight the growing security concerns across the Gulf region, particularly amid tensions involving US forces, Iraq, and neighboring Gulf states. Analysts warn that the increase in drone and missile attacks could affect civil aviation, military operations, and regional stability.

Officials continue to monitor the situation closely, urging airlines, travelers, and military personnel to stay alert to further developments.
