A drone-related incident near Dubai International Airport sparked a fire in a tanker close to the airport area, prompting authorities to temporarily halt incoming flight landings as emergency teams rushed to the scene.
According to the Dubai Media Office, the incident occurred when a tanker near the airport caught fire following a suspected drone event. Emergency response teams immediately launched firefighting operations to control the blaze and secure the surrounding area.
Officials said emergency services acted swiftly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further. Authorities also implemented precautionary safety measures to ensure the protection of passengers, airport staff and nearby residents.
As a safety step, flight landings at Dubai International Airport were temporarily suspended. Aircraft heading toward Dubai were instructed to remain in holding patterns in the air until the situation could be assessed and the area secured.

The Dubai Media Office confirmed that no casualties had been reported so far. However, authorities said the situation was being closely monitored and further updates would be shared as more information becomes available.
Meanwhile, Saudi state television reported that as many as 34 drones were shot down within an hour, though officials have not yet confirmed whether those drones were directly linked to the incident near Dubai airport.
Authorities said firefighting efforts were ongoing and that aviation authorities were working to restore normal flight operations as soon as possible. Investigations are also expected to determine the exact cause of the drone-related incident.
