Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a strong statement saying that Iranian forces are fully prepared to counter what he described as American plans against the country.
In a message shared on social media, he said Iran’s navy is ready to deliver a “new and bitter defeat” to its enemies if needed. His remarks come amid rising regional tensions.
He described Iran’s military as part of the nation itself, saying soldiers are like the “sons of the people” who rise from ordinary families to defend the country.
Khamenei also warned that some foreign powers are trying to divide Iran, but said the country’s armed forces remain united and strong against such efforts.
He added that Iranian forces are actively protecting national borders and praised their commitment. He also extended greetings on the anniversary of Iran’s military establishment.
Meanwhile, tensions in the region increased further after reports from maritime sources said two merchant vessels were hit by gunfire while attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Shortly after, shipping sources reported that Iranian naval forces sent warnings over radio communications, stating that the key waterway was closed again and no ships would be allowed to pass.
Tracking data showed a convoy of tankers moving through the strait earlier, marking one of the first major shipping movements since the conflict involving Iran and Israel began weeks ago.
However, Iran later announced it was restoring strict military control over the route, which is one of the world’s most important oil shipping channels.
The United States is also reportedly maintaining pressure on Iranian maritime activity, adding further uncertainty to global shipping routes and energy trade.
