
A meeting of the Pakistan-Emirati Joint Ministerial Commission was held in which other important decisions were made, including the abolition of visa requirements for official and diplomatic passports.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, in his statement on the social networking platform X (formerly Twitter), said that the 12th meeting of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) was held in Abu Dhabi after a long gap of 12 years between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The important meeting held late last night under the leadership of Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and his counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed is being described as a significant breakthrough in taking strategic, economic and development cooperation between the two brotherly countries to new heights.

Ishaq Dar said in his post that the meeting reviewed in detail the progress made in various sectors including trade, investment, energy, infrastructure and IT.
On this occasion, three important memorandums of understanding were signed, one of which is a major initiative, a visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic and official passports of both countries. In addition, there was a formal agreement on cooperation in artificial intelligence and the digital economy and the promotion of joint investment, which will further expand the economic interests of both countries in the future.
In his statement, Ishaq Dar further said that the signing of the visa exemption agreement with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed reflects further strengthening mutual trust, brotherly relations, and institutional cooperation between the two countries.
