Beijing (Web Desk): China welcomes the US-Iran deal to end the Middle East conflict and praises Pakistan’s mediation role in reaching the agreement.

China has welcomed an agreement between the United States and Iran aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East. Beijing also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in helping mediate the deal, calling it a positive step for regional peace.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said China hopes the agreement will be signed as planned. He added that Beijing also expects safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz to be restored as soon as possible.

The United States and Iran reportedly agreed to end military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route. However, details regarding Iran’s nuclear programme remain unclear.

Saudi Arabia also welcomed the agreement, calling it an important step towards ending hostilities and starting peace talks. However, it stressed that any long-term deal must respect the security interests of regional countries.

In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said the agreement includes a 60-day negotiation phase aimed at reaching a permanent settlement. It also emphasized the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other states.

Meanwhile, Egypt described the deal as a possible turning point for peace in the Middle East. Cairo said the agreement could help build trust, strengthen cooperation, and support diplomatic efforts to resolve remaining regional issues.

World leaders have broadly welcomed the development, calling it a major diplomatic breakthrough. Many believe it could help stabilize the region, reopen key trade routes, and ease pressure on the global economy.
