Trump says US may strike Iran again on Wednesday night
US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States will likely carry out additional military strikes against Iran on Wednesday night following the latest exchange of attacks between the two countries.
Speaking to reporters at the NATO summit in Turkey before meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Trump said, “I’ll give a little warning: We’re going to hit them hard tonight.”
Earlier, Trump said the memorandum of understanding that had served as an initial ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran was “over.” However, he did not clearly state whether Washington would return to full-scale war or continue negotiations on a permanent agreement.
“I don’t know if we’re going to have a deal. We may just do it without a deal,” Trump said before he meets with Zelenskiy.

The renewed tensions came after Iran claimed it had targeted US military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait. Tehran said the attacks were launched after US forces struck Iranian targets in response to attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
The latest escalation has also increased concerns about security in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy shipping routes. Shipping data showed that at least four oil and gas tankers turned back instead of passing through the waterway because of growing security risks.
The renewed conflict has also pushed global oil prices higher, as traders fear possible disruptions to energy supplies from the region.
