NA bill: Telecom companies can install towers anywhere in Pakistan
Under the new law, licensed mobile and telecom companies will be able to install towers and lay optical fiber anywhere they choose. The bill has now been sent to the Senate for further approval.
According to the amendment, both private property owners and government institutions will be required to provide space for telecom infrastructure. This is aimed at expanding connectivity across the country.
If any private house owner, tenant, or public or private organization refuses to provide space for towers or optical fiber installation, they may face a heavy penalty. The fine can go up to Rs50,000,000.

Officials say the step is meant to speed up digital expansion and improve telecom services. However, it has also raised questions about property rights and enforcement.
The new law gives telecom companies strong powers for network expansion. It may improve internet coverage but could also create concerns for property owners. The real impact will depend on how strictly it is implemented.
