Digital security alert issued as PTA warns online users
PTA issues cybersecurity advisory to protect citizens from online fraud and digital threats through stronger password habits and safety tools. The authority stressed the importance of using strong and unique passwords for every online account, saying weak passwords make users easy targets for hackers.
PTA also advised people to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever available, calling it an important extra layer of protection for online accounts. It warned users against using the same password on multiple platforms, as this increases the risk of large-scale data breaches and cyberattacks.

According to the advisory, citizens should avoid using simple passwords and refrain from using personal details, such as names, birth dates, or easy-to-guess number patterns. The authority further urged people not to share passwords with anyone and to change them regularly to reduce the risk of misuse.
PTA also recommended using biometric security features like fingerprint and facial recognition to make digital accounts and devices more secure. Officials said strong password habits are essential for a safer digital environment and encouraged users to follow these guidelines to stay protected from cybercrime.
