The device is completely designed and built inside the country with both local hardware and software.
The National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) said the phone runs on a new operating system and cannot connect to the internet, preventing outside tracking or hacking.
The device can use SIM cards from any Pakistani telecom network, but calls can only be made to another secure mobile phone.
Special applications have been created to work only on this device. According to NTC, these apps cannot be intercepted, monitored, or recorded.
The phone has no backup system, so all activity stays on the device itself.
NTC Managing Director Ali Farhan confirmed that the first batch includes 10 units made under a pilot phase. More units will be produced once funding is approved. Officials stressed that platforms like WhatsApp are not safe for sensitive communication, citing recent exposure of messages during Pakistan-India tensions.
