Karachi IT Park initiative set to create thousands of jobs, boost digital innovation
This major facility aims to strengthen Pakistan’s international software trade potential while encouraging local innovation.
Modern Facilities Planned
The project is being developed by the Pakistan Software Export Board near Jinnah International Airport. According to official plans, the facility covers 1.145 million square feet across six acres and includes corporate offices, research labs, and data centres.
Funding and Oversight
The total project cost was approved at $186.658 million through Korean financing and national development funds. Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal also shared details about this 11-storey building on social media.
Economic Impact Expected
Earlier estimates suggest this hub will create over 20,000 technology jobs for local professionals. Although lawmakers raised concerns about construction delays, the active development site marks a big step forward for the city’s technology ecosystem.
This upcoming center could significantly lower operational costs for local software companies and young entrepreneurs. If completed on schedule, it will help retain domestic tech talent and attract foreign business partnerships.
