Pakistan Army offers civilian officer jobs with September deadline
The positions cover aviation, engineering, psychology, procurement and several specialised fields in Rawalpindi and other formations.
The appointments will initially be made for three years. The Army may extend the service for another year based on performance and recommendations from the relevant organisation.
Eligibility and age limits
Retired, released and retiring Colonels, Lieutenant Colonels and Majors can apply for the advertised positions. Applicants must meet the qualifications, service background and experience required for their selected posts.
The maximum age is 54 years for Colonels and 52 years for Lieutenant Colonels and Majors. For pilot positions, the maximum age is 55 years for all three ranks.
Officers must generally have retired and been struck off strength within the last two years, excluding Leave Preparatory to Retirement (LPR). The period is extended to five years for pilot positions, also excluding LPR.
Aviation and technical positions
The vacancies include aviation pilot, Aviation EME, engineering and technical coordination positions. Pilot applicants must meet the specified flying qualifications, hold a BA or BSc, have at least 1,500 flying hours and meet the FC-II medical category requirement.
The advertisement also requires a flight safety record showing no pilot-error accident during the last five years. Aviation EME positions require relevant Aerospace or Avionics engineering qualifications, technical training and experience in aviation maintenance or related work.
Other vacancies cover psychology, procurement, supply chain management, medical administration and engineering. Requirements vary by post and may include relevant master’s degrees, service courses, professional qualifications and specialised experience.
Application process and restrictions
Applicants can obtain forms from the AG’s Branch portal, CP Directorate (CP-IV), GHQ Rawalpindi, or their nearest Station Headquarters. Photocopied forms are also allowed under the advertisement.
Candidates must submit applications in triplicate, along with four 2 × 2 photographs, a CNIC copy and copies of civilian qualification certificates. The photographs must carry the applicant’s name on the back.
The notice requires applications to reach the designated office within 15 days of publication in newspapers. It also states that candidates will appear before a Special Selection Board at GHQ Rawalpindi at their own expense.
Officers facing disciplinary cases involving moral turpitude, character issues or misappropriation during service are not eligible. The advertisement also excludes officers compulsorily retired, released or discharged because of inefficiency.
The vacancies offer retired and retiring Army officers an opportunity to use their military experience in civilian gazetted positions. The wide range of fields means applicants must carefully match their qualifications and service background with the relevant post.
