Poland's Iga Swiatek wins Wimbledon 2025 title

LONDON (Web Desk): Poland's Iga Swiatek won the Wimbledon Women's title. In the final, Iga Swiatek defeated American Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0.

In the women s singles final of the ongoing tennis tournament in London, Poland s Iga Swiatek won the first set against American player Anisimova 6-0. Anisimova could not win a game in the second set either and lost the set 6-0.

It was the first time since 1911 that a woman player had failed to win a single game in the women s singles final. In 1911, in the Amateur Era, British player Lambert had defeated compatriot Dora Boothby 6-0, 6-0.

Iga Swiatek has won the sixth Grand Slam title of her career, having previously won the French Open four times and the US Open one time.

This was the 100th Grand Slam victory of Iga Swiatek career. She has now been steadily advancing in the Grand Slam since 2019, with 100 wins and 20 losses.
