The latest ICC rankings show movement in both all-rounder and bowling categories after key match-winning displays.
West Indies captain Hayley Matthews has climbed back to the top of the ICC Women’s T20I all-rounder rankings. Her strong showing against New Zealand helped her overtake Melie Kerr after a closely fought battle at the top.
Matthews scored an impressive 48 runs and also took the wicket of former New Zealand captain Sophie Devine. Her all-round performance led West Indies to a dominant seven-wicket win over the White Ferns in their opening World Cup match.
New Zealand skipper Melie Kerr struggled in the same match, scoring only five runs and failing to take a wicket. This allowed Matthews to regain the number one position in the all-rounder rankings once again.
India’s Deepti Sharma also made a strong move in the rankings after her brilliant bowling performance. She climbed to third place following her five-wicket haul against Pakistan at Edgbaston.
Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce also improved her position significantly. Her all-round performance against Ireland helped her return to the top ten, reaching tenth place in the ICC all-rounder rankings.
In the bowling category, the competition remains extremely tight and unpredictable. England spinner Linsey Smith continues to lead the chart, but only a small points gap separates the top eight bowlers.
