PCB launches new central contract system with Track A, B, C and D
Under the new PCB central contract system, the Pakistan Cricket Board has divided centrally contracted players into four categories: PCB Track A, PCB Track B, PCB Track C, and PCB Track D.
The updated structure is designed to reward players according to their performance, fitness, format specialization, and long-term potential.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, players featuring in both Test and ODI cricket will be placed in combined categories, while PCB Track A will be reserved for specialist Test cricketers.
Likewise, PCB Track B and PCB Track C will cover players involved in white-ball cricket, including ODI and T20 formats.
One of the most notable additions to the PCB central contract system is PCB Track D, which has been created specifically for emerging cricketers Pakistan hopes to develop for future international duties.
This category will include academy players and development squad members who are being prepared for higher levels of competition.
The board has clarified that international appearances alone will not guarantee a place in the new PCB contracts structure.
Factors such as medical fitness, domestic cricket participation, and overall performance will also play a key role in determining who receives contracts.

In recent years, the Pakistan Cricket Board has repeatedly updated its player payment and contract policies.
With the latest central contracts Pakistan framework, the board hopes to better reward format specialists while creating stronger incentives for performance and consistency.
