England Test captain Stokes back in action after surgery recovery
Test captain Ben Stokes returns to action after facial surgery as he makes his comeback to competitive cricket following a serious training injury.
He will feature for Durham in their County Championship match against Worcestershire starting Friday, marking his long-awaited comeback.
Reports said Stokes was hit by a ball during a net session, which caused bruises, cuts, and a broken cheekbone. He underwent facial surgery soon after the injury.
The 34-year-old has now fully recovered from the operation, according to a statement issued by Durham on Thursday.
Stokes last played for England in January during a Test match against Australia before being ruled out due to injury.

His return comes as a major boost for both Durham and England ahead of a busy international schedule.
England are set to face New Zealand in their next Test match at Lord’s starting June 4, where Stokes is expected to play a key role if fully fit.
His comeback is being closely watched as England look to strengthen their squad with experienced players returning ahead of important fixtures.
