Bangladesh set massive 437-run target for Pakistan in Sylhet Test
Bangladesh put Pakistan under heavy pressure by setting a challenging target of 437 runs in the second Test match being played in Sylhet. The hosts were bowled out for 390 runs in their second innings, taking an overall lead of 436 runs against Pakistan.
At the end of the day’s play, Pakistan had not started their second innings as the umpires called stumps shortly after Bangladesh were dismissed. Veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim played a crucial role with a brilliant century that helped Bangladesh recover and build a strong total.
He formed an important partnership with Litton Das, who contributed 69 runs after Bangladesh faced early pressure following the dismissal of Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto for 15.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz also added valuable runs with a contribution of 19 during the middle-order effort. For Pakistan, fast bowler Khurram Shahzad led the bowling attack with figures of four wickets for 86 runs, while Sajid Khan picked up three wickets.

Mohammad Abbas and Hasan Ali also claimed one wicket each as Pakistan tried to restrict Bangladesh’s growing lead. Earlier in the match, Bangladesh also received useful contributions from Mahmudul Hasan Joy, who scored 52, and Mominul Haque, who added 30 runs.
Pakistan struggled in their first innings and were bowled out for 232 runs after suffering a batting collapse despite a fighting knock of 68 runs by Babar Azam. Captain Shan Masood scored 21 runs, while Sajid Khan added 38 to help Pakistan avoid an even lower total.
Bangladesh bowlers Nahid Rana and Taijul Islam took three wickets each in the first innings, while Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed two wickets apiece.
