PERTH (Web Desk): Legendary bowler, former Pakistan captain, and incumbent commentator Wasim Akram faced abuse from fans at the Optus Stadium in Australia.

Sources revealed that the shocking incident took place during the ongoing match between Australia and India, prompting authorities to strengthen security measures.

A young spectator approached Wasim Akram for an autograph, but he later began using abusive language.

The incident continued even after the match when Wasim Akram went outside the ground to hire a taxi. The same young fan harassed him again. The eyewitnesses claim that the situation escalated when the two exchanged heated words.

Security personnel intervened promptly and removed the young fan from the scene. Wasim Akram expressed disappointment over the incident, but Cricket Australia clarified that the abuse was not racially motivated.

Authorities stated that security measures would be strengthened for the rest of the days of the Test match, with deployment of additional personnel around commentators during the match. Cricket Australia has assured that the body will prevent happening of such incidents in future.

Fans have been instructed to show ethical behaviour in the stadium to ensure the continuation of the sport in a pleasant atmosphere.
