(Web Desk): Indian fast bowler Yash Dayal has been suspended from taking part in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh T20 League after rape accusations.

UP Cricket Association revealed that Dayal would not participate in the league s third edition, set to start on August 17.

Dayal, who had been hired to represent the Gorakhpur Lions in the tournament, is in deep legal trouble following another woman s complaint against him. Previously, a case had also been lodged against him in Jaipur. According to reports, the new complaint has brought severe scrutiny against the cricketer, prompting prompt disciplinary action.

The 26-year-old bowler was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team that won the Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year. However, his entire career as a professional has been tainted with the growing allegations.

The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, sources said, took the decision to ban in order to preserve the integrity of the league and prevent controversy at the tournament. Police investigations are in the midst of being carried out, and Dayal may incur additional legal penalties if proved guilty.

The charges and consequent suspension have caused intense debate within Indian cricketing circles, with numerous voices demanding a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the issue.
