Weather forecast: Dry conditions expected as Lahore air pollution rises
The weather department expects dry conditions in Islamabad, most parts of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan over the next 24 hours. Sindh is also likely to experience hot weather during the day.
Lahore Air Pollution Rises Sharply
Lahore’s air quality has worsened compared with the previous day, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) rising by 22 points to 178. The city’s maximum temperature is expected to reach 31°C, while winds are forecast to blow at 3 kilometres per hour.
Humidity in Lahore is expected to remain at 83%, adding to the city’s weather conditions. The latest figures show that air pollution remains a concern despite the forecast of mostly dry weather.
Multan Road Records Highest Pollution Level
Multan Road recorded the highest AQI among the reported locations in Lahore, reaching 249. The AQI stood at 245 in Kahna, 203 in Barki and 187 in Shahdara.
These figures show that pollution levels vary across different parts of the city. Residents in areas with higher readings may face greater exposure to polluted air.
Dry Weather Expected Across Major Regions
The weather department expects most districts of Punjab to remain dry during the next 24 hours. Islamabad and most parts of Balochistan are also likely to experience dry conditions.
Most districts of Sindh are expected to remain dry as well, with daytime temperatures likely to be hot. The forecast does not mention widespread rain for these regions during the stated period.
Dry weather may continue across much of the country, but Lahore’s rising air pollution remains a concern. Residents should monitor local air quality and limit prolonged outdoor activity when pollution levels are high.
