The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a fresh weather alert, warning of rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in various parts of the country from April 16 to April 19, 2026.
According to the official notification released from Islamabad, a westerly weather system is expected to enter the upper and central parts of the country on April 16. This system is likely to bring widespread rain, windstorms and isolated heavy falls in several regions.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Peshawar and surrounding districts are expected to receive rain and thunderstorms with chances of heavy showers at isolated places between April 16 and April 18.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are also likely to experience rain and gusty winds during the same period, with snowfall expected over higher altitudes.

In Punjab and Islamabad, cities such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Murree and nearby areas may witness thunderstorms, strong winds and rain from April 16 to April 18, raising concerns about urban flooding in low-lying areas.
Balochistan is expected to receive rainfall in Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan and nearby regions, while Sindh may experience dust storms and light rain in some districts.
Authorities have advised farmers to plan their activities carefully, while travelers and tourists have been urged to remain cautious. The department also warned of possible damage to weak structures, trees and power lines due to strong winds.
Citizens are advised to stay updated with official forecasts and take necessary precautions during this changing weather pattern.
