Rain system brings showers to Lahore, Punjab and Islamabad
A rain-producing weather system is currently affecting Pakistan, with Lahore and several other parts of Punjab likely to receive rain during the next 24 hours.
Rain has already been reported in several areas of Lahore, including Kot Lakhpat, Township, Chowk Na Khuda and Samanabad. Showers have also been reported around Sagian and Manawan, while more rain is expected in different parts of the city.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rain in Lahore throughout the day. The probability of rainfall in the city has been placed between 20% and 80%, raising hopes of relief from the recent humid weather.
Islamabad is also under cloudy skies, with rain expected at some locations. The capital recorded a morning temperature of 24°C, while moderate winds are expected to keep the weather pleasant during the day.
The weather system is also expected to bring thunderstorms and rain to parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
Residents in affected areas may experience sudden showers and gusty winds as the system moves across different regions. Weather conditions could change quickly, particularly in areas where thunderstorms are forecast.
The latest forecast suggests that several parts of the country may continue to experience unstable weather conditions, while Lahore remains among the cities where intermittent rain is expected today.
