Rain forecast for KP and Punjab as heatwave conditions continue
The Meteorological Department expects rain, strong winds and thunderstorms in several areas.
Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to remain hot and dry during the day on Friday. However, thunderstorms may develop in different parts of the province from Friday night into Saturday.
Thunderstorms likely in KP
Partly cloudy weather is expected in Kohistan, Abbottabad, Waziristan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan. These areas may receive rain along with strong and gusty winds.
Islamabad and nearby areas are also expected to remain hot during the day. Weather conditions may change at night, with a 35% chance of isolated thunderstorms.
Punjab districts may receive rain
Rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are expected during the afternoon and night in several upper Punjab districts. The areas include Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Rawalpindi and Mianwali.
The forecast could bring some relief from the ongoing heat in these areas. However, strong winds and thunderstorms may also affect local travel and outdoor activities.
Sindh and Balochistan remain hot
Most districts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to continue experiencing hot and dry weather. No major change in weather conditions is expected in most parts of these provinces.
The Meteorological Department said most parts of the country remained dry during the past 24 hours. The highest temperature of 40°C was recorded in Nokkundi, Sibi, Mithi, Dadu and Sukkur.
The forecast shows a mixed weather pattern across Pakistan, with heat continuing in many areas while rain and thunderstorms are expected in parts of KP and Punjab. The change could provide temporary relief from high temperatures in affected districts.
Residents in areas expecting thunderstorms should remain cautious during strong winds and heavy weather. People in hot and dry areas may continue to face difficult conditions until the weather pattern changes.
