Rain and thunderstorms likely as weather takes a cloudy turn
Islamabad is expected to witness a change in weather later today as the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast cloudy conditions and possible rain with thunder in parts of the city during the night.
According to the weather department, the federal capital remained warm and humid during the morning hours. However, cloud cover is expected to increase after noon, raising the possibility of thunderstorms and rainfall in several areas by evening and night.
The temperature in Islamabad was recorded at 21 degrees Celsius in the morning. During the day, the mercury is likely to rise to around 32 degrees Celsius. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of about 9 kilometres per hour, while humidity levels may remain above 53 percent, contributing to muggy conditions.
The weather department also predicted partly cloudy skies in various areas of Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. Several locations in these regions are likely to receive rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, bringing relief from the recent warm weather.
Meanwhile, Karachi is expected to remain cloudy throughout the day, with chances of light drizzle in some parts of the city. Weather experts said sea breezes have helped reduce the intensity of humidity, making conditions slightly more comfortable for residents.
The temperature in Karachi was recorded at 30 degrees Celsius in the morning and may rise to 35 degrees Celsius later in the day. Authorities have advised citizens to stay updated on weather forecasts, especially in areas where thunderstorms are expected.
