Rain and hailstorms forecast in major Pakistani cities until October 15
Rain expected in major Punjab cities
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says a westerly weather system is expected to enter the country, bringing changing weather conditions to several areas.
Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala and Sialkot are likely to receive rain between October 10 and 14. Other districts of Punjab may also experience thunderstorms, strong winds and isolated hailstorms.
The Pakistan weather forecast suggests that the upcoming system could bring relief from the recent heat. However, strong winds and hail may create problems for residents and farmers.
People travelling during the expected rain in Pakistan should remain alert to changing weather conditions and possible disruptions.
Rain and strong winds in northern areas
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to receive intermittent rain and strong winds from October 10 to 15.
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan may also experience thunderstorms and possible hailstorms during this period. Residents in these regions should prepare for sudden changes in weather.
The PMD weather alert covers several areas where strong winds and thunderstorms could affect daily activities.
In Balochistan, rain is expected in Zhob, Barkhan and Musakhel on October 10 and 11. Most parts of Sindh, meanwhile, are likely to remain hot and dry over the coming days.

Crops and buildings could face damage
The Met Office has warned that strong winds, thunderstorms and hailstorms may damage weak structures, electricity poles, billboards and other exposed installations.
Standing crops across the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could also be affected. The hailstorm forecast is particularly important for farmers whose crops may be vulnerable to strong winds and hail.
The Pakistan weather forecast also indicates that temperatures could fall by 2°C to 4°C in affected areas, providing some relief from the heat.
However, the possible temperature drop does not remove the risks associated with severe weather. Residents should take care around trees, electricity poles and structures that may be damaged by strong winds.
PMD advises farmers and local authorities
The PMD has advised farmers to plan their agricultural activities according to the forecast and take steps to protect standing crops.
Relevant government departments and local authorities have also been asked to remain alert and take precautionary measures to reduce possible damage.
Residents should avoid unnecessary exposure during thunderstorms and stay away from weak structures and outdoor installations when strong winds occur.
The PMD weather alert is especially important for farmers and people living in areas where hailstorms are possible. People checking Lahore weather and Islamabad weather should follow official updates as conditions may change.
