LAHORE (Web Desk): The Punjab rain alert warns of rain and strong winds in several districts until October 14, as the PDMA urges caution.

Rain expected in several Punjab cities

The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a Punjab weather update, warning that many parts of the province may receive rain over the coming days.

It has directed relevant departments to take precautionary measures and remain prepared for emergencies.

According to the authority, a western weather system entered the country’s upper regions on Saturday. The Lahore rain forecast includes the possibility of rain and strong winds, with changing weather conditions expected in both urban and rural areas.

Which cities are likely to receive rain?

The Rawalpindi rain forecast includes the possibility of showers, along with expected rain in Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat and Gujranwala.

Rain accompanied by strong winds is also possible in Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal and Mianwali. The PDMA Punjab has also forecast occasional rain in Faisalabad, Khushab, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Jhang and Toba Tek Singh.

Residents should monitor the Punjab weather update and follow official safety instructions because conditions may change during the expected spell.

Murree and hilly areas face landslide risk

Authorities have been asked to take special precautions in Murree, Galiyat and other hilly areas because of the risk of landslides.

The Punjab rain alert has prompted departments to remain prepared for possible emergencies. Heavy rain can make mountain roads dangerous and increase the risk of falling rocks and landslides.

Travellers should check the latest Rawalpindi rain forecast and road conditions before starting their journey towards hilly areas.

Public urged to avoid unnecessary travel

The PDMA has asked people to take care during the expected rainy spell. The rain until October 14 could bring difficult travel conditions in some areas, particularly during strong winds and heavy showers.

The Lahore rain forecast and updates for other districts should be checked before travelling. Residents should follow official announcements and avoid unnecessary journeys during bad weather.

The PDMA Punjab has also advised relevant departments to stay alert and respond promptly if an emergency occurs.
