Pakistan weather update: Rain, thunderstorms forecast in major cities
Pakistan weather is expected to remain hot and humid across most areas today, while several cities may receive rain with thunderstorms and strong winds.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, parts of northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir may experience thunderstorms, gusty winds and rainfall at scattered locations.
Islamabad and surrounding areas are likely to remain hot and humid during the day. However, rain and thunderstorms are expected in some areas during the night, providing temporary relief from the heat.
Most districts of Punjab will also experience hot and humid conditions. However, scattered thunderstorms and rain are forecast in Murree, Galiyat, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Jhelum and nearby areas during the evening or night.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is expected at some places in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Bajaur, Mohmand and Khyber during the evening or night.
Meanwhile, most districts of Sindh are likely to remain hot and humid. Coastal areas may see partly cloudy conditions, although the weather is expected to remain generally warm.
Most parts of Balochistan are also expected to experience hot and humid weather.
The combination of high humidity and daytime temperatures may make conditions uncomfortable in several regions. Residents in areas expecting thunderstorms are advised to remain cautious during strong winds and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather.
The forecast suggests that scattered rainfall could provide short-term relief in several cities, although hot and humid conditions are likely to continue in most parts of the country.
