The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast a new spell of thunderstorms and rain in Islamabad from August 27, bringing relief after several hot days.

Islamabad is expected to remain hot and mostly dry today, with partly cloudy skies. The maximum temperature is likely to reach 35°C, while the minimum is expected to remain around 25°C.

Heat to rise before rain

The weather is expected to become hotter on August 26, when the temperature in Islamabad could climb to 36°C. Most parts of the day are likely to remain dry, while skies may clear during the evening and night.

However, weather conditions are set to change from August 27 as monsoon activity increases across Islamabad and other upper parts of the country.

The forecast indicates thunderstorms and rain in Islamabad, accompanied by strong winds. The new weather system could bring a noticeable change after the ongoing hot conditions.

Karachi remains hot and humid

Meanwhile, Karachi continues to experience hot and humid weather as sea breezes have weakened. The temperature in the city is expected to reach 33°C today.

The current temperature is around 29°C, while humidity stands at 75%. Winds are blowing from the southwest at around 12 kilometres per hour.

The high humidity is expected to make Karachi’s weather feel warmer during the daytime, keeping the city under a hot and uncomfortable spell.
