CJP protest returns with Delhi march over NEET paper leak row
The Cockroach Janata Party has announced a peaceful march from India Gate to the Delhi Police Headquarters on September 5. The planned CJP protest is expected to bring affected families and students back onto the streets.
The announcement comes around four weeks after an earlier demonstration at Jantar Mantar. CJP says the government failed to honour assurances given after the earlier NEET controversy.
Families to lead the march
According to the organisation, authorities had promised compensation for families of students who died by suicide following the NEET paper leak controversy.
CJP also claims the government had promised to withdraw FIRs registered against young people who took part in the student protest India witnessed after the controversy.
The organisation says these promises have not yet been fulfilled. The NEET students and their families are therefore preparing for another demonstration.
The planned India Gate march is expected to be led by families of students who lost their lives during the NEET controversy. Students who faced alleged police baton charges during previous demonstrations are also expected to join the Delhi protest.
Supreme Court issue also raised
CJP has also referred to proceedings in the Supreme Court. The organisation says the court had sought details of cases registered against protesters.
However, CJP claims the process has been delayed at the government level. The group says this has added to frustration among participants of the earlier CJP protest.
The continuing dispute over the NEET paper leak has kept attention focused on the concerns of students and their families.
