
A Low-Pressure Area (LPA) over the Bay of Bengal is expected to move westward from 17th August, intensifying monsoon activity across Pakistan. A westerly wave is also present, adding to the weather system.
Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan
From 17th to 19th August, widespread rain, wind, and thundershowers with heavy to very heavy falls are expected in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur, and most districts of Gilgit-Baltistan including Skardu, Hunza, Diamir, and Astore.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Heavy rainfall is forecast across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Swat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan, and tribal districts, between 17th and 19th August.

Punjab/Islamabad
Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Murree, and several central Punjab districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall from 17th to 19th August, while southern Punjab including Multan, Bahawalpur, and DG Khan may experience rains from 18th to 20th August.
Sindh
Rain and thundershowers, with heavy falls at times, are predicted in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sukkur, Larkana, and Tharparkar between 17th and 22nd August.
Balochistan
Districts including Khuzdar, Gwadar, Lasbela, Panjgur, and Zhob are expected to receive rainfall from 17th to 21st August.
Possible Impacts
Flash floods in streams and hill torrents of KP, Punjab, Kashmir, and Balochistan.
Urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Hyderabad, and other major cities.
Landslides in northern hilly regions including KP, GB, and Kashmir.
Windstorms and lightning may damage weak structures, electric poles, billboards, vehicles, and solar panels.
The Met Office has advised the public, tourists, and travelers to stay cautious, avoid vulnerable areas, and remain updated with the latest forecasts.
