Kuwait has reopened significant employment opportunities for Pakistani workers, particularly in the transport and food services sectors, reflecting a growing demand for skilled and disciplined labor from Pakistan. The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis confirmed that Kuwaiti employers are prioritizing Pakistanis based on professional expertise, adaptability to Gulf work culture, and proven discipline.
In the transport sector, positions for drivers require practical driving experience, physical fitness, and the ability to safely manage long working hours. Selected drivers will receive a monthly salary of 175 Kuwaiti Dinars along with a 15 Dinar food allowance, while housing, medical coverage, work permits, and visa formalities will be provided by employers.

Similarly, the food services sector is seeking kitchen helpers, responsible for basic kitchen tasks, cleaning, food preparation assistance, and teamwork. These positions offer a monthly salary of 95 Kuwaiti Dinars plus a 15 Dinar food allowance, with full accommodation and legal employment protections. Work hours in Kuwait follow the labor law: eight hours per day, six days a week, with contracts lasting two years, extendable under mutual agreement. Employees are also provided annual air tickets and transport facilities during employment.
These opportunities are especially important for young Pakistani professionals and laborers seeking legal, secure, and well-compensated employment in Gulf countries. Experts highlight that Kuwait’s renewed hiring of Pakistani workers signals strong confidence in Pakistan as a reliable labor partner, reversing long-standing restrictions imposed in 2011 due to security and administrative concerns.

After limited openings resumed in 2023, 2024 saw 1,883 Pakistani workers travel to Kuwait legally, followed by a substantial increase to 6,563 workers in 2025. The trend continues into 2026, indicating that Kuwait is once again becoming a key destination for Pakistanis seeking Gulf employment. The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) is facilitating transparent and organized recruitment, reducing risks of human trafficking and illegal agent involvement.
With the growing demand for Pakistani drivers, kitchen helpers, and other roles, these opportunities promise economic stability for thousands of families and increased remittances for Pakistan’s economy. Experts suggest that if the current pace continues and labor cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait expands, 2026 could mark a strong comeback of Pakistani manpower in the Gulf region.
