The new extension provides relief to Umrah pilgrims who were facing difficulties completing the vaccination process before their scheduled flights.
Under the updated arrangement, Umrah travel 2026 without vaccination will remain possible until October 10, according to focal person Dr Murtaza Shah.
The extension is aimed at facilitating Umrah pilgrims and improving vaccination facilities for passengers travelling abroad.
Officials said the Umrah vaccination deadline was extended to give travellers more time to complete the required process.
Vaccination centres facing rush
Five NADRA facilitation centres have been established at the Karachi Airport dispensary to help passengers with registration and related procedures.
Vaccination will also begin at the Jacob Lines dispensary next week. The government has started issuing a digital vaccination certificate for Umrah pilgrims and other passengers travelling abroad.
However, passengers have reported difficulties because only limited vaccination facilities are currently available.
The vaccination certificate process has created a rush at existing centres, with elderly people, women and infants among those facing difficulties.
NADRA system introduced
The federal government has linked the vaccination process with NADRA and introduced a digital vaccination certificate system to make the process easier and help prevent forged documents.
Passengers can register through the NADRA Pak ID app before visiting the vaccination centre. International travellers can also register through NADRA e-Sahulat centres.

Officials have advised passengers to visit vaccination centres around 10 days before their international travel date.
Vaccines required for Umrah
Influenza and meningitis vaccines are mandatory for Umrah pilgrims travelling for Umrah.
The vaccination requirements are part of the preparations for Umrah travel 2026, while the updated deadline gives travellers additional time to complete the process.
Passengers who already have upcoming flights have called for more vaccination centres and better facilities to reduce waiting times.
Some travellers said they reached the centre as early as 8am but were still unable to get clear information or receive their vaccination certificate.
