Senior KP bureaucrat allegedly dies by suicide in Peshawar
Police said Grade-18 officer Javed Sanam allegedly died after shooting himself at his home in Peshawar. Officers and other officials rushed to the scene after receiving information and collected evidence for examination.
According to initial information, the senior government officer was reportedly facing property disputes with close relatives. Police, however, said investigations are continuing to determine the actual reason behind the incident.
Speaking to the media, SP Cantt Muhammad Junaid Kharl said the case initially appears to be a suicide. He added that important evidence had been recovered from the room where the incident took place.
The police officer said the post-mortem report would help provide a clearer picture of the circumstances surrounding the death. He noted that investigators are examining all available evidence before reaching any final conclusion.
Police officials said every aspect of the case is being reviewed carefully. Further action will be taken in light of the evidence collected from the scene and other information gathered during the investigation.
The news of Javed Sanam’s death has caused sadness in government circles. Fellow officers and people who knew him expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic incident.
