The Punjab government has launched a major climate-friendly initiative under the CM Punjab Green Credit Program, allowing households to earn green credits by installing approved solar devices at home. The move aims to push families toward cleaner and more affordable energy solutions across the province.
How the Green Credit System Works
Under the program, residents can install solar panels, solar stoves, solar geysers, or energy-efficient fans.
The government confirms that:
1 verified installation = 1 green credit
Each green credit is worth Rs 10000
To participate, applicants must upload proof of purchase and their utility bill reference number using the MRV form on the official CMPGCP web portal. Only registered applicants will be considered for verification and issuance of credits.
Easy Online Registration
Citizens can submit their information and documents online.
Registration is available at the official government link:

Officials say the process has been designed to be simple so anyone can participate and benefit from clean energy options at home.

A Big Push for Clean and Low-Carbon Energy
According to government officials, this initiative supports Punjab’s long-term climate targets by promoting low-carbon household energy. The program also encourages families to shift away from traditional, high-cost energy sources.
Authorities believe the Green Credit Program will help reduce pollution, cut electricity bills, and speed up the province’s move toward sustainable energy.
