The Punjab School Education Department has announced a major change in the schedule of both public and private schools across the province, declaring Friday as a weekly holiday.
Under the new policy, educational institutions will now operate four days a week. Officials confirmed that the revised schedule aims to streamline academic activities and improve efficiency in the school system.
According to the official notification, morning shift schools will operate from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. Meanwhile, schools running a second shift will hold classes from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm. The updated timings are expected to help manage student flow and ensure better utilization of school facilities.
Authorities stated that the decision has been taken after careful consideration of various factors, including administrative convenience and academic planning. The move is also likely to bring some relief to students and teachers by providing an extended weekend.
The department has directed all schools to strictly follow the new schedule and ensure smooth implementation. School administrations have been advised to inform students and parents about the revised timings to avoid any confusion.
